MADISON, MARCH 22 – The Best of Madison singer-songwriter and Blues vocalist, Kelsey Miles, is throwing one of the biggest debut album release parties in WI. With a blues and rock infused sound, Kelsey delivers high-energy shows across the Midwest and just returned from a tour through St. Louis and Nashville to finish her debut album. The event will be held at the stunning new venue, The RiverStone in Fort Atkinson on Friday, March 22nd.
This album is highly influenced by Kelsey’s life which over the last five years has seen a major shift. She moved to Wisconsin in 2013 to pursue a career in chemistry, and in 2014 she learned how to play guitar, her first instrument. After receiving her PhD in Chemistry in 2017, she has dedicated herself to playing shows and writing songs because as she puts it, ‘Music healed me, and I owe it to music to help others heal’.
As Teri Barr, host at 94.9 WOLX, puts it, ‘The Ohio-born woman is a beauty, inside and out, and Wisconsin is fortunate she now considers Madison her home.’ This party features performances by Kelsey Miles and her band; Fort Atkinson’s Terri Schanen; Madison’s premier funk band, Mad City Funk; and a dance performance by Breakthrough Dance Company. A portion of all ticket sales will be donated to The Dane County Humane Society which is inspired by Kelsey’s sidekick Roadie, her cat, who travels with Kelsey on her tours and is nominated for a 2019 Madison Area Music Award for Roadie of the Year.
